Musa, Ekong, Balogun, 19 Eagles train in Asaba

22 players led by Super Eagles stand-in-captain, Ahmed Musa trained on Tuesday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State ahead of this Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana of South Africa. The match is scheduled for the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

SportingLife.ng gathered from the team’s official twitter handle that the only player being expected is Bordeaux of France player, Samuel Kalu.

Today’s training which was done behind closed doors was supervised by head coach, Gernot Rohr.

Another session will hold tomorrow (Wednesday) which would be open to the public before the team departs on Thursday for Johannesburg aboard a chartered aircraft at 5pm.

Saturday’s fixture is the return leg between both teams after last year’s encounter which ended 2-0 in favour of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital.

Nigeria only needs a draw or a win to qualify for next year’s championship in Cameroon.
