NFF inspects Abuja Stadium for Eagles, Congo DR friendly

The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were at the Abuja National Stadium on Monday to inspect the pitch of the Main Bowl ahead of the International friendly between the Super Eagles and DR Congo on May 28.

SportingLife.ng learnt that the NFF inspectors came unannounced and went straight to the pitch, took notes before making their exit.

The NFF are yet to decide on the match venue, after getting reports that the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Portharcourt may not be ready.

While the Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung told the media that the match would be played in Port Harcourt, the NFF sources suggested that it would hold at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium Uyo.

The NFF would have preferred the match played at the Abuja National Stadium so that President Muhammadu Buhari would be present as the Father of the Day.
