Speaking after the game in Austria, Rohr who agreed that the team is still not ready for the World Cup with 9 days to go, however pleaded with fans to focus on the results at the World Cup which to him were more important.

“We’ve 9 days to be ready for our 1st match vs Croatia, as at today we are not ready. I am not sad because of this result, the result that matters will be in Russia,” said the coach which was posted on the team’s official Twitter handle.

In a space of five days, the Eagles have lost two friendly matches with the first against England which ended 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium last Saturday.

It will be recalled that in March, Nigeria lost to Serbia 2-0 in a friendly played in London.
