Sportinglife.ng Wednesday gathered that Nigeria is set to open a training camp in Brazil for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Players and officials of the youth age team Wednesday jet out to Brazil for the final phase of their training for the mundial.

It has also been confirmed that the coach Manu Garba’s team are up for South Korea, Japan and an unnamed Brazilian team showpiece in preparation for the World Cup.

According to Media Officer of the team, Francis Achi said, “The golden Eaglets will leave Nigeria later Today; the Players, Coaches and back room staff. It’ll be a comprehensive training camp before the final 21 players will be selected.

“They’ll face South Korea, Japan and a team from São Paulo during this intensive camping.”

Achi also revealed there might be some adjustment to the squad and final selection.

A lot of players who went for the tournament in Turkey will be shocked, because some didn’t raise their game and there’s a chance that those who didn’t join the Turkey trip will break into the squad.”

Nigeria’s bid for a record extending sixth title will get underway on October 26 against Hungary.

The Eaglets are in Group B alongside Hungary, Ecuador and Australia.
