Oparanozie: I have opened a new chapter in my career

Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie has confirmed her exit from French club Guingamp after a six-year stint.

Oparanozie’s contract expired at the end of the just-concluded season and she has decided not to renew with the club, which means she’s free to join any team of her choice ahead of ahead next season.

The former Wolfsburg and Bayelsa Queen forward has now thanked the management and the fans of the club for their support over the last six years.

“After six years of playing for Guingamp, I won’t be continuing with them for the next season and I will be starting a new chapter,” she said through her social media handle.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone at the club, the board members, the coaching crew, my teammates, the staff, and most importantly the fans for the amazing years.”

The 26-year-old who has made 35 appearances for the Super Falcons and scored 22 goals in return, however, promised to reveal her next destination in the coming weeks.
