Osimhen will continue to prove himself–Charleroi coach

Charleroi manager Felice Mazzu has heaped praises on ex-Golden Eaglets striker Victor Osimhen for living up to expectations since joining the Belgium club from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg this season on loan.

The 19-year-old has found the back of the net twice in the last five days which is a positive step for the player who struggled for game time with the German club that he spent 18 months.

This has earned him accolades from Mazzu who revealed that he persuaded the club to sign him despite his scorecard with Wolfsburg.

” Victor (Osimhen) can score goals. We know he can do that and getting in shape is what he needed. He still has to improve but his confidence is back which is good for his progression with us”, the coach said after the game.

Osimhen scored his first professional league goal for Charleroi last weekend in their 1-1 draw against
Waasland-Beveren and followed up with another goal on Wednesday in their 2-0 win over VC Endracht Aalst
2002 in the Beker Van Belgie Cup .

The Nigerian was tipped for greatness after his exploits at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup with 10 goals.
