Real Madrid ‘enquire’ about £44m-rated striker Aubameyang
Real Madrid have reportedly “made an enquiry” for Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Spanish giants are set to add further reinforcements to their forward line having failed to replace Cristiano Ronaldo when he left for Juventus in 2018.
Eden Hazard was signed last summer but struggled with injuries all season, playing only 15 games and scoring just one goal.
And according to France Football, their attentions are focussing on £44m-rated striker Aubameyang.
The 30-year-old Gabon international is yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates with his contract only having another season to run after this one.
The Gunners paid Borussia Dortmund £56million to sign the forward in January 2018.
He has scored 61 goals in just 97 games and would represent a huge loss if he was to leave Mikel Arteta’s North Londoners.
Real’s big rivals Barcelona are also believed to be monitoring Aubameyang’s situation at Arsenal.
And Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG could all show their hands in the summer.
Gunners fans won’t be too confident that their star man will agree a new contract if an interview he did with former Premier League star Kevin-Prince Boateng is anything to go by.
To pass the time during the coronavirus lockdown, Aubameyang allowed fans to fire questions at him during a live broadcast on his social media.
And when pressed by fans during his talk with Boateng, Aubameyang laughed at the idea of penning a new contract.
Seeing the influx of questions about his future roll in, Boateng said: “They’re [fans] all saying you should sign a new deal with Arsenal.”
Tight-lipped Aubameyang simply replied: “Ah yeah, I know.”
When Boateng asked how long was left on his current deal, the Gabon star kept it brief, saying: “One year.”

The Arsenal captain has scored 17 goals in 26 Premier League games this season – which easily makes him the club’s top scorer.
