Moses contributed in no small measure to the 2-1 defeat of Black Stars of Ghana in the first friendly but started the second match against Mali which unfortunately ended in injury for the former Levante star.

An 18th minute collision with Mali goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa was so severe the 28 year old had to be taken off the pitch on a stretcher. Hours after the game, Moses Simon’s French Ligue 1 club, Nantes, confirmed that the Nigeria international will be sidelined for the rest of the season due to a broken fibula injury. In what looked like double jeopady the Super Eagles also lost the match 2-0.

“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,” a statement from Nantes read.
