John Mikel Obi has been listed as Nigeria’s richest footballer with a net worth of $57m which has come from investments, capital projects and endorsements according to an online survey.
Surprisingly Mikel who recently terminated his contract with Chinese Club, Tianjin Teda is not the most valuable Nigeria player in the transfer market which has gone to Wilfred Ndidi.
The Super Eagles captain who has repeatedly cleared the air on his national team status is followed by Obafemi Martins with $37m, Victor Moses at $20.1m, with Ahmed Musa and Emmanuel Emenike in joint-fourth at $18m. Yakubu Aiyegbeni is sixth at $14.5m.
Victor Anichebe is seventh at $11m, followed by Vincent Enyeama at $7m, Taye Ismaila Taiwo at $6.6m and last in the top-10 is Peter Osaze Odemwingie at $5.5m net worth.
None of the current Super Eagles players made the list.
