Ronaldo disobeys gravity to nod home stunning header in Juve win

Cristiano Ronaldo has been hailed by fans as “the greatest aerial threat in the history of football” after scoring an incredible header for Juventus on Wednesday night.

The Portuguese ace took his tally to 10 goals in 14 Serie A games as he fired home in a 2-1 win over Sampdoria.

Ronaldo jumped high and almost seemed to hang in the air for seconds before blasting a header home from an awkward angle.

The 45th-minute goal proved to be the winner for Juventus.

And it moved Maurizio Sarri’s men three points clear of Inter Milan, who can restore parity if they beat Genoa on Saturday.

Ronaldo was an amazing 8ft 5in – 2.56metres – off the ground when he made contact with the header.

He also hung in the air for a ridiculous 1.5 seconds.

Sampdoria boss Claudio Ranieri said: “Ronaldo did something that you see in the NBA, he was up in the air for an hour and a half.”

And he has now scored six goals in his last five games after forming a new-look attack with Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

Fans were thrilled with Ronaldo’s efforts, and believe the 34-year-old isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

One wrote on Twitter: “Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest aerial threat in the history of football.

“The sheer height he gains via his leap is unbelievable and then his hang time exceeds anyone else! What a sensational goal.”
