Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has announced a 30- man provisional roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the usual suspects making the list.

Captain John Mikel Obi leads the roll call that includes Victor Moses, Elderson Echiejile, Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, Odion Ighalo and Eddy Onazi.  Strikers Simeon Nwankwo and Junior Lokosa are first timers to the senior team . Both players were considered due to their impressive form in recent weeks.

The German has left out Kayode Olanrewaju, Hapoel Beér Sheva striker, Anthony Nwakaeme and Henry Onyekuru. Portugal based goalkeeper Dele Alampasu was dropped for Plateau United first choice Dele Ajiboye.

A total of 23 players will make the final list which would be released next month. All invited players have been told to report at the Le Meridien Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo on Monday, 21st May. Uyo, as home ground, was the conquering terrain for the Super Eagles during the qualifying series.

The Super Eagles will face Democratic Republic of Congo, England and Czech Republic in friendly matches on June 2 and June 6 before their trip to Russia for the World Cup.
