USA, Tunisia, Ghana and 7 others storm Abuja for Taekwondo Open

The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation has extended the ongoing registration of the Nigeria Taekwondo International Open Championship to another seven days following request by Athletes amidst registration bottlenecks.

This was made known to Sportinglife.ng on Sunday by the Technical Director of NTF, Chika Chukwumerije who revealed that already 45 Athletes from United States, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon and host, Nigeria have successfully completed their registration while 63 others from Tunisia, Senegal, Togo, Benin Republic and Mali as well as Nigeria are still pending.

According to him: “Registration deadline for Nigeria Taekwondo International Open has been shifted by seven days to 29th January 2018 by popular request. This is to allow athletes who have registered OFFLINE to complete their ONLINE registration on the World Taekwondo Registration Portal.

“Registration Number so Far: 45 Athletes from Nigeria, USA, DR Congo, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Cameroon have completed their online registration so far. There are 63 pending offline registrations from Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Benin Republic, Mali, Tunisia.

“It is our duty as a federation to ensure hitch free championship and so far everything we needed to make it success is already on ground. The various committees set up for this event have concluded their assignment. Most us have been involve in international competitions and we know how it is done, ” said Chukwumerije.

The Int’l Taekwondo Open Championship wil hold at the Package B of Abuja National Stadium ,February 6th to 10th , 2019.
