Uzoho Keeps Clean Sheet for Elche after returning from injury

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho showed he has fully recovered from injury that kept him on the sidelines for a month, as he helped Elche share the points with Sporting Gijon in a Spanish Segunda fixture.

The former Nigeria junior international who missed Elche’s last four matches made three excellent saves to deny the visitors in the seventh, 21st and 55th minutes of the encounter.

It was the third clean sheet for Uzoho, who missed Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa and the international friendly against Uganda.

He has however conceded five league goals this season for Elche who have now gone six matches without a win.

Uzoho has featured in 12 international matches for the Eagles conceding 12 goals, since making his debut against Argentina in a Pre-World Cup friendly in November 2017.
