The NFF cleared the air following claims that they have abandoned the keeper who is yet to be operated upon.

“There is no week that the federation does not speak to Uzoho to know how he is faring. He is our player and we owe him a duty to monitor his progress and wellbeing. We are happy that he is okay and he is in high spirit,” said a team official.

Uzoho landed awkwardly on his knee in the friendly against Brazil and had to be replaced by Maduka Okoye in the second half.

FIFA will be responsible for the wages of the 20-year-old for the period he will be out of action which is in fulfillment of their compensation scheme to Clubs whose players are injured during the international break.
