Valencia 4 – 1 Lille: Osimhen scores despite losing in Spain 

Super Eagles’ striker, Victor Osimhen scored for Lille but his goal was not enough to stop the French side from suffering a humiliating 4-1 loss to Valencia in the UEFA Champions League tonight.

Osimhen started the game in a two-man attacking formation alongside Loic Remy and found the back of the net in the 25th minute after a defensive blunder from Valencia’s Daniel Parejo.
The Nigerian forward found himself in a 1 on 1 situation with the keeper and wasted no time in slotting home the goal to put Lille ahead.
The first half ended with the away side hanging onto their 1-0 lead but at the resumption of the second stanza, Valencia went in search of the equaliser which Parejo got in the 66th minute from the spot to make amends for his earlier blunder.

Lille’s woes were compounded in the 82nd minute when Adama Soumaoro put the ball inside his own net before late goals from Geoffrey Kondogbia and Ferran Torres helped Valencia secure an emphatic 4-1 win at the Estadio Mestalla
