Victor Osimhen leads Europa League Team of the Week attack

 

Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has been named in the Europa League Team of The Week for Matchday One by whoscored.com, one of the largest detailed football statistics website which covers Europe’s top leagues.

Sportinglife.ng reports that the Nigeria international gave a man-of-the-match performance and scored a brace as Napoli fought back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with Leicester City in the Europa League encounter at the King Power Stadium on Thursday.

According to match statistics, Osimhen recorded 100% pass accuracy, six shots with three on target, won six duels, created two chances, and score two goals. He also attempted most take-ons (4), completing all four of them.

Osimhen, who scored ten goals for The Parthenopeans last season, got 9.2 rating by the website.

Whoscored.com’s UEL Best XI saw Osimhen partnering Real Betis forward Borja Iglesias, who got 8.5 rating in the attack in a 4-4-2 formation.

Also named in the team of the week list is 20-year-old Jeremie Frimpong, who put up a star performance for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-1 victory over Ferencvaros.

Frimpong rated (8.2), hold the right back position, just as Milan Rodic (7.9) of FK Crvena Zvezda operates from the left position, while Galatasaray defender, Marcos do Nascimento Teixeira (7.9) partners Maik Nawrocki of Legia Warszawa (7.8) in the heart of defense.

The midfield has Real Sociedad’s Adnan Januzaj, who is rated (8.4), PSV Eindhoven’  Mario Götze (8.5), Evander da Silva Ferreira (8.8) of FC Midtjylland together with Lyon’s  Karl Toko Ekambi (8.2).

Fernando Muslera is the team’s goalkeeper after helping Galatasaray secure a 1-0 victory over Lazio.
