Wolves star fires Liverpool warning after comeback win over Man City

Wolves star Adama Traore has warned Liverpool that they’ll be in for a tough game on Sunday after doing the Reds a huge title race favour for the second time this season.

Winger Traore scored both goals as Wolves beat Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium in October, and he turned in an even better performance as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side came back from 2-0 down to beat a stunned City 3-2 at Molineux on Friday night .

After City goalkeeper Ederson was sent off for a rash challenge on Diogo Jota early on, Pep Guardiola’s side took control thanks to a Raheem Sterling brace either side of half-time, with the first goal coming via a controversial VAR-awarded penalty which had to be retaken.

But Traore was at the forefront of the revival, scoring with a fine angled shot to pull one back before crossing for Raul Jimenez to level from close range.

Jimenez’s flick then sent Matt Doherty clear to win the game in the 89th minute, lifting Wolves up to fifth in the table and leaving City a massive 14 points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand and are now huge favourites to lift what would be their first top-flight title since 1990.

The Reds host Wolves at Anfield on Sunday, and Traore has promised similar levels of fight from his teammates despite the short turnaround.
