Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi and his teammates at Arsenal have been guaranteed maximum protection by Moscow authorities ahead of Thursday’s Europa quarter final clash against CSKA.

Further protection will also be extended to Iwobi, Welbeck and other black players in the Arsenal squad to prevent the players from being subjected to any form of racial abuse by the Russia fans.

Meanwhile Iwobi has revealed that Arsenal have shifted their attention on winning the Europa League in a bid to qualify for the Champions League next season.

” Our best way of making it back to Europe is by winning the Europa League this season and that will definitely be a big statement of intent for us.

Around 1,000 Arsenal fans are expected in Moscow for the reverse fixture and they are to be marshaled to and from CSKA’s VEB Arena.

The Russia authorities have decided to take this step after France international and Manchester United player, Paul Pogba was targeted by fans when the country’s senior team played France in a friendly last month.

The crackdown also follows the recent nerve agent attack on a former Russian double agent in Salisbury.
