Allegri: Ronaldo deserves the Ballon d’Or not Modric
Cristiano Ronaldo finished second in voting for the 2018 Ballon d’Or, but his coach Massimiliano Allegri believes he deserved to finish top of the podium for what would have been the third year in a row.
Pointing to his 2017/18 Champions League success with Real Madrid, Allegri stated that Ronaldo would have been his pick.
“I think Cristiano Ronaldo deserved to win the Ballon d’Or because of the Champions League he won with Real Madrid,” he told reporters.

“In the World Cup, it’s true that he couldn’t do much more with Portugal.
“So I think he deserved it.
“But I think this will motivate him to do even better this season and to win it with Juventus.”
If Ronaldo were to win the Ballon d’Or during his time at Juventus then he’d become the first player to claim it while at three different clubs.
