Henry Nwosu: Eagles can hurt Crocodiles in Maseru

Super Eagles players have been urged to be physically and psychologically ready to face the Crocodiles of Lesotho as they slug it out on Sunday in a 2021 AFCON Qualifier in Maseru.

The Eagles pipped the Squirrels of Benin Republic 2-1 in their qualifying opener in Uyo on Wednesday and will trade tackles with Lesotho who equally held the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone to a goalless draw in Free Town on the same day.
A former stalwart of the then Green Eagles, Henry Nwosu who made this admonition reckoned that from the games they played against the Crocodiles previously they noticed that they were always phobia while playing against Nigeria.
He argued that a very fit and ready Nigerian team should be able to take Lesotho to the cleaners even if the game is played on a synthetic pitch and on an away soil.
“I just want to charge the Eagles to be ready for the game,” Nwosu told Sportinglife.ng.
“We must have Eagles that are ready physically and psychologically to face Lesotho. We have an edge over them and it is the reason why they were always afraid when they faced us back then.
“I don’t think the situation has changed but the Eagles must seize the opportunity and not give them breathing space just like they did against Benin Republic which earned the required three points.”
