Katsina United defender, Chinedu Ajanah has revealed to SportingLife.ng that he enjoyed the experience of playing for the Super Eagles B team against Atletico Madrid in the GOTvMax Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

It was a brilliant game and I enjoyed the experience,’ Ajanah told SportingLife. ‘Honestly, I want more action with the Super Eagles and hopefully continue to improve. I’m happy with our performance generally especially from the NPFL players involved.’

Arsenal youngster, Kelechi Nwakali opened the floodgate of goals with a screamer from outside the box but the Spaniards hit back through Angel Correa to end the first half 1-1. Fan favourite, Fernando Torres came off the bench to give Atletico the lead with a fine header but the biggest cheer of the night came when Usman Mohammed toyed with the visitors defense, dribbling past three defenders with ease before slotting past the goalkeeper to make it 2-2.

However, Atletico showed experience with five minutes left on the clock as Torres found Borja Garces and the youngster made no mistake as he fired past Femi Thomas in goal for the Nigerian side to end the game 3-2 with the ever competitive Diego Simeone punching the air.

The game was very lively and entertaining with national team boss, Gernot Rohr and some of the World Cup bound Super Eagles stars watching in admiration from the stands.
