Ogu wants to play for Ifeanyi Ubah before he retires.

The 31-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Hapoel Beer Sheva following a successful five-year spell where he won the Israeli league three times and voted the Best Foreign Player in 2016.

Speaking with SportingLife, he revealed: “I’m a fan of our league and everything that has to do with Nigeria. I have this dream of playing for a local club before I retire.

“I’ll love to play for a club in my state and Ifeanyi Ubah is in my state and if it happens I will grab it but right now – I’m still strong and healthy.

“I still have a lot to offer out there in Europe but when its time, I will definitely end up in the league. I feel we need to do this more to promote our league.”

The NPFL is currently on break but Ogu is a huge fan of the English premier league and a lifelong Arsenal fan – with the Gunners struggling for form, the Nigerian may just be making a surprise move to England.
