Joshua Looks Sharp after Wilder Calls Him ‘Coward’

Anthony Joshua was branded a ‘coward’ by Deontay Wilder but the British boxer seemed undeterred by those comments as he stepped out for lunch in London.

Dressed smartly, Joshua went to Smith & Wollensky restaurant in Covent Garden.

Wilder, speaking on Good Morning Britain as he promoted his upcoming fight with Tyson Fury, which takes place on December 1, was heavily critical of Joshua.

Wilder and Joshua were set to fight this year but couldn’t agree a deal, with the American boxer making his frustration over the situation clear.

Wilder said: ‘Hey Joshua, me and Fury have got this thing going on to see who is the biggest and baddest in the world, to see who is champion, one face, one name, something you was too coward to do.

‘You was a coward, and you know this, your team knows this. Every last one of you saying things over again, you manipulated it, you conjured it. You are compulsive liars.’

Joshua recently defeated Alexander Povetkin at Wembley to retain his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight titles.

Following his victory over Povetkin, attention has now turned towards who Joshua’s next opponent will be and he admitted that he would be open to fighting Wilder.

As reported by The Daily Express, Joshua said: ‘Yeah. That would be the ideal fight for the fans, for myself and for my legacy.

‘So yeah, why not? Nothing’s signed, nothing’s sealed. I don’t like to give people false news. But that’s the fight I want, that’s the fight we want and that’s the fight that should happen.’

During his press conference ahead of the fight with Fury, Wilder pushed his upcoming opponent.

The two heavyweights will battle for the WBC title in Los Angeles and Fury was in bullish mood.

He said: ‘I’m savouring nothing, the only thing I’m savouring is smashing Deontay Wilder’s teeth in. All the press have turned up, they are here to see the biggest fight of our generation between two undefeated giants, and you are in for a real treat, because I am in the mood for no messing around or dancing in the ring.

‘I will stand and prove what I will do to this idiot, I will stand and punch his face right in. If we fought 30 times, I would win 30 times.

‘‘The thing is Bronze Bomber, you big dosser, you’re not ready for me, you never have been. All your knockout power can’t beat Tyson Fury. You are going to f*** yourself.

‘If I can’t beat you, I’ll kiss your two feet on the floor.’
