Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has joined the millions of football stakeholders that paid tribute to the late chairman of Everton FC Bill Kenwright.
The Nigeria international signed for the Blues in August 2019 from Arsenal. After a difficult start to his Goodison Park career, he went on to play a key role in the teams that escaped relegation under Frank Lampard and then, last season, under Sean Dyche.

Iwobi left the club in September, to sign for Fulham, but he is still highly regarded by Everton fans. And it is clear how highly regarded he was, too, by Kenwright.
In his social media tribute, Iwobi said: “RIP to a hero. A big part in my career & my life, I’ll forever be grateful!”
