Though Coach Salisu Yusuf is still serving his one-year ban over issues related to bribe, head coach

Super Eagles Coach Genot Rohr has refused to see his embattled assistant as an outcast.
Speaking on Monday Night Football on SuperSport, Rohr revealed that the suspended Eagles coach has not been disengaged from recruiting the best legs in the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) into the national team.
“I read the reports in the papers that the NFF does not want us to invite foreign based players for other AFCON qualifiers because of expenses but l called the president(Amaju Pinnick) and he did not confirm that. What i can say is that the door is open for professionals in the home league and Salisu is still with us on that.”

Recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation handed Salisu  a year ban from all football activities and fined him $5000 over his involvement in a bribery incident.

The Super Eagles assistant coach was caught on camera collecting an amount of money believed to be worth $1000 from some undercover journalists posing as agents and in return promising two of their players a place in his squad for the 2018 Africa Nations Championship.

Yusuf was part of Nigeria’s coaching crew to the 2018 World Cup in Russia and led the home-based Super Eagles to the final of this year’s African Nations Championship [CHAN] in Morocco.
